Beautifully handcrafted straight cut letter size, A5 paper manufactured in Sri Lanka utilizing the invasive Guinea grass as part of a government community initiative to safeguard the environment from invasive & trash plants and raise the standard of living in rural areas by helping them make a living.
The rural community, which had been trained to make high-quality papers, handles this laborious manufacturing process. Finding raw materials is the first step in the process, which is followed by the removal of contaminants and slicing of the components. The fibrous component is then separated after the sliced sections have been thoroughly cleaned and boiled. The plant fibers are then separated and processed into pulp after being washed and boiled. In this case, a naturally occurring binding material created from plant extracts is used together with the natural or artificial colors. The created pulp is put into a mesh wooden frame that is submerged in a water tank, where the paper is processed and essentially dried in the sun to produce the papers. In this case, the necessary designs are applied to produce numerous different types of papers.
Due to the handmade nature of our products, some of the pieces may have variations in texture and weight. The majority of the pieces in our batches are pretty similar, but occasionally there may be a piece where weight, texture or color is not quite the same or evenly distributed.
Each handmade paper comes with an assurance that it is chemical, acid, and tree-free as well as 100% environmentally friendly. Writing, sketching, painting, and printing are only a few examples of uses. This paper is ideal for crafts, doodling, messages, and invitations. Give your ideas free rein!
